The Press
Room is located in the Lenox Room on the bottom floor of
the Hyatt Regency (the Motor Lobby
level). Press Room Hours are
tentative and may be changing prior to the convention. Please
check back for updated hours. Please plan to register during these hours.
During hours of operation, there will always be Media Staff in
the Press Room.
Thursday:
4:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Friday: 8:00 am - 9:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am - 8:00 pm
Sunday: 8:00 am - 8:00 pm
Monday: 8:00 am - Noon
If you are
pre-registered you will be able to pick up your badge in the
Press Room. You will still need to check in, confirm your
contact information, read and sign the Media
Agreement and have your registration form authorized by
the Media Staff.
To aid in pre-registration, new media
should fill out our badge request form New
Media Form. Returning media should fill out the Returning
Media Form. These forms allow you to request badges for
other staff members in your company that will be covering the
Dragon*Con
for media purposes. They are for Working Media only and not
friends and family.
If you are a local TV
news crew who wants to cover Dragon*Con for a newscast,
please come to the Press Room and we
will provide a media escort to help you get where you need to
go.
If you are not
pre-registered, we will need to print your badge at the
convention. Please allow extra time for this process. If you
are already in the Media database, confirm your
contact information, read and sign the Media
Agreement and have your registration form authorized by
the Media Staff.
If you are new Media registering for the first time, you will
need to fill out a registration form.
It is important to fill out this form completely and legibly
since this is where we get the information to enter you into
the Media database. If you are not in the database, we can not
stay in touch with you for future media access.
After you have filled out your form, read and signed
the Media Agreement, and had the form authorized by the Media
Staff, you will be directed to VIP Badge Pick-up where they
will print your badge.
If you do not have the
authorized Media Registration form, you will not be issued a
badge. Registration forms and badges can only be given to
individuals personally, so each member of your staff will need
to come to the Press Room to fill out their own form.
Pre-registration badges will only be given to the person whose
name is on the badge.
Each Media badge will
have a Press ribbon attached. If for some reason you do not
want a Press ribbon, please let us know BEFORE we attach it to
your badge. Press ribbons will not be given out unless they
are attached to a badge; however, if you have paid for a
membership or have a badge through another department and are also working media,
you can come to the Press Room and have us attach a Press
ribbon to your badge.
Press ribbons let
guests and attendees know that you are working media, just in
case your camera or notepad hasn’t already given it away.
Press ribbons do NOT automatically give you special access to
ANY area of the convention. Sometimes special media access is
available for contests, events and concerts. You will need to
make arrangements with the Media Staff BEFORE the event starts
in order to gain access.
