The Media Department
is not responsible for scheduling interviews for the media.
Since each media organization has its own agenda it is
difficult to schedule interviews that will interest everyone.
Naturally the big name guests have great mass appeal, but
their time is the most limited because they are committed to
many programming events. And it is hard to get them to commit
to at-con interviews prior to Dragon*Con so that schedules can
be made out.
We have also found that even when an interview is scheduled,
interested media is not always able to attend due to their own
scheduling conflicts. Therefore, we have adopted the policy to
let the media make their own contacts with the guests and set
up convenient times for interviews.
The Media Department
will assist in helping you locate guests during the
convention. We can point you in the right direction, but will
not necessarily be able to bring the guests to you. We might
even be able to help you locate a quiet corner or unused room
that you can use temporarily for interviews. If we have a
request from a guest for a scheduled interview, we will post
signs in the Press Room as soon as we have the information
available. Please plan to stop by the Press
Room regularly for news updates and schedule changes. The
Daily Dragon (Dragon*Con’s own daily at-con newsletter)
will be available in the Press Room.
Pre-con interviews are
available with many guests. Some media organizations have
taken it upon themselves to contact guests prior to Dragon*Con
for pre-con interviews. Email, online and phone interviews
have been set up with various guests throughout the year. We
always encourage this, but you are responsible for making your
own contacts with the guests.
